There are many misconceptions about the use of AI in HR. Nick Martin, Andreas Lohff and Achim Preuss from Aon’s Assessment Solutions discuss and clarify common misconceptions about the use of artificial intelligence for recruitment.
I think most people don't understand what it is. If you go out on the street and ask people: Are you worried about Artificial Intelligence?
"Ten percent would probably say yes, and ten percent will say no and twelve percent would say I'm worried about my own intelligence and the rest is worried about the intelligence of the people around them. I think is there's a lot of misconceptions and ignorance about it.
Perhaps we as a field haven't done a good job of promoting that. We've been doing this for a while, we know what we're doing. But you see it pop up in all sorts of applications right now. It makes a lot of very important decisions for individuals.
In our case, "Are you gonna get a job?", that's a pretty important decision for someone. Their well-being, their future. One system that does everything intelligently, that is not true.
A system that is capable of doing natural language processing is not able to drive autonomously a car. Both systems are artificial intelligent, but we are far away of having a system that could drive the car and do the dishes.
